Meet the Attorneys

G. Patrick Hand, Jr.

G. Patrick Hand, Jr., was born in NOLA in March, 1941.  He received his education at St. Alphonsus Grammar School in NOLA, Redemptorist High School in NOLA, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge; and the Loyola School of Law in NOLA, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws/Juris Doctor Degree in 1965. picture

Pat engaged in the private practice of law from 1965 through 1967.  In 1967 he accepted an appointment to the United States Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases and served as the Chief of the Criminal Division until 1971. 

In 1971 Pat returned to private practice in NOLA.   He continued his private practice until 1974 when he accepted an appointment as an Assistant District Attorney in NOLA.  Pat again prosecuted criminal cases – this time on the State level – until 1976 when he once again returned to private practice which continued uninterrupted until the years 1998-1999 when Pat accepted an Appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court as Judge Ad Hoc in Division “O” of the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, where he shined wearing the black robe.

Pat is also one of the founding shareholders of True Title, Inc., which was formed in the State of Louisiana in January, 1998, and is located in the same office building as The Hand Law Firm. 

Pat is a member in good standing of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Federal Bar and the Jefferson Bar Association. 

Pat’s practice has included the prosecution and defense of criminal charges; personal injury litigation, primarily as a plaintiff attorney; domestic litigation, and corporate advice and litigation.  During his prestigious career, Pat has prosecuted, defended, and presided over numerous jury trials and bench trials.



G. Patrick Hand, III

G. Patrick Hand, III, was born in NOLA in May, 1966.  Patrick graduated from Christ The King Grammar School in Terrytown, LA, in 1980, Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, LA, in 1984, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 1988, and the Loyola School of Law in NOLA in 1991, where he received his Juris Doctor Degree. picture

Patrick accepted an appointment to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office in 1991, where he practiced as an Assistant District Attorney until 1997.  While practicing in this capacity Patrick received extensive experience as a prosecutor in Juvenile Court, Traffic (DWI) Court, Drug Court, and in several Felony Divisions.  As a prosecutor Patrick tried numerous felony jury trials and misdemeanor judge trials.   

During this time Patrick also engaged in the private practice of law with his father, G. Patrick Hand, Jr.  Patrick’s brother, Tim, joined the family Firm in 1996, and the three Hands continue to practice together to this day in Gretna, LA.  Patrick is also one of the founding shareholders of True Title, Inc., which was formed in the State of Louisiana in January, 1998, and is located in the same office building as The Hand Law Firm. 

Patrick has also sat as Judge Ad Hoc in Second Parish Court in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, after being appointed to this position by the Louisiana State Supreme Court.

Patrick also received his Title Agent’s License in the State of Florida in 2002.  Patrick continues to this day to perform abstracting work in the State of Florida primarily through his website, www.TitleSearchFlorida.com

Patrick is a member in good standing of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association.

Tim Hand

Timothy “Tim” Hand was born in NOLA in April, 1970.  Tim is a 1988 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, LA, a 1993 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, with a B.S. in accounting, and a 1996 graduate of the LSU Law School with a Juris Doctor Degree. Tim entered the private practice of law in 1996, and is one of the founding shareholders of True Title, Inc., which was formed in the State of Louisiana in January, 1998, and is located in the same office building as The Hand Law FirmTim has been the President of True Title, Inc., since its inception, where he is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the residential and commercial real estate closing firm. picture

As a practicing attorney for True Title, Inc., Tim performs title examinations, conducts closings and personally handles any and all legal issues that may arise relative to the transactions.  Further, as a partner in The Hand Law Firm, Tim is involved in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, business/asset sales and acquisitions, contract negotiation, successions, family law and personal injury law.

Tim is a member in good standing of the Louisiana Land Title Association, the Jefferson Bar Association, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
